Meet The Gang: Sandy & Her heart

Sandy came into my life in 2019. She came from a situation that just wasn’t right for her. I wasn’t planning on getting a German Shepherd, especially not as my first dog on my own, but she needed a home and I couldn’t say no. She was “free,” but I learned very quickly that a free dog is never truly free. Sandy has been my rock through everything, from building my business to figuring out life as a first-time dog owner. She’s the reason behind Simply Sandy Pet Services, and she’s the heart of it too. When I first got her, it wasn’t easy. She was two years old, didn’t even know her name, and we definitely didn’t see eye to eye. She was stubborn, independent, and had a mind of her own. Training her was tough, but little by little, we learned each other. Now, she’s one of the smartest, sweetest dogs I’ve ever met and she’s come such a long way from that confused, unsure girl I brought home in 2019.

Sandy has taught me so much, mostly to never give up, even when things are hard. She’s made me a better dog owner, a better trainer, and a better person. She’s my adventure buddy, my protector, and my best friend. She’s getting older now and starting to show some of those typical German Shepherd health issues, but we’re doing everything we can to keep her happy and healthy. She may not love going on walks, but she lives for her ball, tennis ball, rubber ball, doesn’t matter. She also enjoys dock diving when we get the chance and is always up for an adventure. Sandy is truly one of a kind as my first dog, my heart dog, and the inspiration behind everything I do. I can’t imagine my life without her and I’m so proud of how far she’s come. Simply Sandy Pet Services wouldn’t exist without her.
